the founder of Creativity School
and Child's Book Author and Illustrator
As a child attending public school, I experienced disappointment due to the absence of art and design courses. The school prioritized Language Arts, History, Science, and Math, resulting in the reduction of art programs. Unfortunately, art was not perceived as significant. However, I persevered and diligently studied, achieving excellent grades and eventually graduating from UC Davis with an Economics Degree.
Later in life, I discovered the value of creativity, art, and design. Steve Jobs at Apple inspired me to follow my inner voice. I found a new world. I quit my consulting career for a job at Pixar. Later, I became a professional artist after graduating from the Art Center College of Design.
The creative skills I learned at Art Center were empowering. I learned to draw from my imagination, problem-solve through design thinking, and visually communicate ideas. Creativity became my superpower.
I wondered why we didn’t teach all kids how to draw, paint and design in elementary and middle school.
As kids’ brains develop, they learn best through storytelling and hands-on art projects.
During the Pandemic, I started teaching kids art and storytelling online. I recruited my friends, who are award-winning authors and illustrators, and we developed art lessons that not only taught art but also engaged kids’ imaginations.
Over the years, we’ve seen our students grow their creative abilities. When the students returned to school, their teachers were impressed. While some kids were behind academically because of the pandemic, our students were ahead.
Creativity School Students were better readers, writers, and problem solvers because they had art classes that inspired them to create their own stories. Kids became confident in their ability to learn and improve.

Every week during the school year, kids can join three LIVE art classes per week.
Kids develop their drawing and writing skills on Tuesdays through a drawing lesson. We use stories to inspire creativity and discuss important ideas.
On Thursdays, kids will explore the world through engaging painting projects.
On Fridays, students will get a mix of SEL, STEAM, and craft-based projects where they learn the creative process to design and problem-solving.
We also have pop-up classes during the holidays and special art camps throughout the year.

The replays stay in our Thinkific library for as long as Creativity School is around. You can take your time watching the replays or revisit your favourite classes again when you have time, as long as you are a member with us!
